On Saturday 12th June and Sunday 13th June, The Debate club attended the East Africa Mashujaa debate competition held at Strathmore University. The students comprised of three teams:
1. The Junior debate team, which had: Aaron Njugi, Andrew Kimeu, Augustine Karanja, Emmanuel Mumo, Kwame Kimani, Leandre Saende, Fidel Muthemba, Riki Siddondo and Michael Saende.
2. The public speaking group comprised of: Brian Maina, Kanja Erick, Hillary Wekesa and Ray Mburu.
3. The quiz masters were: Stefan Mari, Tratton Onyango, Mark Angwenyi, Trevor Radonde, Ayub Abdilatif and David Zawadi.
All the teams were competitive in their various categories. The junior debate team emerged position four out of the 46 schools present.
Some of the debaters who were amongst the best top 30 debaters in the junior category. They were: Augustine Karanja, Leandre Saende and Aaron Njugi.
The public speakers, showcased their communication prowess. Brian Maina emerged position two in the highly contested category.
Finally, the crown was lifted by the Quiz Masters who excellently sailed through all the stages and emerged the champions. They were: Trevor Radonde, Stefan Mari and David Zawadi.
It was indeed a great day for the boys. It was a great learning experience filled with fun.
