The Debate club had a successful season: In The Strathmore University Debate Contest Strathmore School dominated the list of top speakers, securing the first four positions. Adrian Kinyanjui achieved the 4th rank, followed by Kwame Kimani at 3rd position. Aaron Kiuna earned the 2nd spot, while Emmanuel Mumo was crowned as the best speaker of the tournament. The team of Kwame and Adrian were crowned champions securing the coveted 50% scholarship to Strathmore University to a course of their choice.
Previous to this, the debate team took part in the Mashujaa debate championship, 4th Edition and the team featured best speakers; Enock Maina, Adrian Kinyanjui and Kwame Kimani. The other club members were in teams which were: Quiz Team finalists, Silver cup winners, Main cup semi-finalists and Gold Cup finalists. The quiz masters were Jesse Kwame, Keith Murithi and Andrew Kimeu; all being new entrants to the debate team.
Later in the season the team traveled to South Africa for a PASDC(Pan African Schools Debate Championship) where the team got recognition as Best East African Speakers. They were ranked 2nd best Debate Institution from East Africa. The Championship comprised of over 170 East African Schools. Adrian Kinyanjui was 1st position, Ian Irungu 4th and Kwame Kimani 5th, David Mwige 7th, Jason Ngugi 9th, Fidel Muthemba 12th, Ryan Muilu 19th, Enoch Maina 24th and Ronnie Mungai 46th.
